Your Frequently Asked Questions Answered
Spinal Flow is a gentle, hands-on technique that works with the nervous system to help release stress, tension, and blockages stored in the spine. It helps restore communication between the brain and body, allowing healing to happen powerfully.
Spinal Flow does not involved cracking or manipulation like chiropractic care. It is not like a massage as we don’t work with muscles, but with the nervous system directly – although you will feel like you have had a massage! While physio focuses on injury rehabilitation, Spinal Flow focuses on releasing the stored stress that may be contributing to pain, fatigue, or overwhelm.
Clients have found relief from:
- Neck and back pain
- Headaches or migraines
- Fatigue and burnout
- Anxiety or emotional overwhelm
- Digestive issues
- Hormonal imbalances
- Sleep disturbances
- Postural changes
- And so much more
Because Spinal Flow works at the nervous system level, many symptoms improve as the body returns to balance.
Spinal Flow sessions are conducted while you are fully clothed laying on your tummy, while I gently assess and access specific points along your spine — called gateways. These help the body identify where stress is being stored. Sessions are calming and deeply relaxing, and many people feel a shift even after the first visit.
Each body is different! As we all have different requirements our care is specifically tailored to your needs. Some people have immediate results, but others find that their recovery takes time. After your initial assessment, we’ll talk about a treatment plan that supports your individual goals — whether that’s short-term relief, long-term nervous system regulation, or general wellbeing.
Please wear soft, comfortable clothing. Avoid denim or anything restrictive. You remain fully clothed during the session, and treatments are done with a gentle, respectful touch over clothing.
During a Spinal flow session our clients feel relaxed and often go into a deeper meditative space. Some clients will move with the flow of energy, some will be very still. You may experience muscle twitches, heat or tingling through the body, or even emotional releases like crying, sighs or laughter. Mostly it is an indescribable state of relaxation.
Yes. Spinal flow is gentle enough for children, the elderly, and people with chronic health conditions, as well as being safe in pregnancy! We always begin with a full assessment to ensure you feel safe and supported throughout.
Absolutely. Spinal Flow complements other modalities beautifully — including massage, physiotherapy, chiropractic care, acupuncture, and counselling. It’s not either/or. It’s about creating a support system that works for you.
Not at all. Your body leads the way. Sometimes emotions naturally release during a session — other times they don’t. You don’t have to talk or re-live anything for Spinal Flow to work. Your body knows how to release what’s ready, in its own time.
